Wilton, CT – October 7, 2013–Brech Spradley has been named one of the 2013-2014“Best Teachers in Texas” by Golf Digest magazine.
The article, which appears in the magazine’s November 2013 edition, lists the top golf instructors in the country, along with their affiliations. Golf Digest prepares the list every two years, polling more than 1,200 teaching professionals. It is the only list of top golf teachers voted on by their peers.
“I’m very honored to be named among the Top 20 golf instructors in Texas, and especially proud that this recognition is a show of support from my fellow golf instructors,” Mr. Spradley said.
Brech Spradley is the owner and Director of Instruction at the Barton Creek Golf Academy in Austin, Texas. He has been teaching for 20 years and has trained under many of the brightest minds in golf instruction including Chuck Cook, Mac O’Grady, and Ben Doyle. Prior to taking over as Director of Instruction at Barton Creek in 2009, Brech was the Lead Instructor at the Chuck Cook Golf Academy. Chuck Cook has taught PGA Major Championship winners including Tom Kite, Payne Stewart, Corey Pavin, and Jason Dufner.
Brech has become one of the most sought out instructors in central Texas, providing instruction for golfers of all skill levels including beginners, intermediates, collegiate players, accomplished amateurs and touring professionals. Brech’s junior students have won High School State Championships, AJGA titles, City Amateur Championships, various Club Championships and many titles on different junior tours. For example, he has taught Sierra and Mariana Sims since 2007, who were ranked #1 and #2 in high school in Texas and are currently playing for Wake Forest University. Under Brech’s instruction, Sierra won the 5A State individual championship in 2011, 2012 and was runner-up in 2013. As a junior golfer, Sierra was ranked in the Top 10 in U.S. Polo rankings.
