    Dr. Erik Gnagy, PhD, PGA Mental Game Specialist

    • Dr. Erik Gnagy earned a B.S.E from the University of Kansas. He then went on to earn an M.S studying applied sports psychology at California State University, Fullerton. Most recently, Dr. Erik Gnagy earned a PhD from the University of Texas, specializing in behavior and sports performance.  He is one of the leading experts in decision-making in golf.
    • Dr. Gnagy is one of a very small and elite group of PGA Professionals who concurrently hold a PhD. In addition to teaching courses in sports psychology, he consults with professional and amateur athletes on the psychology of optimal performance. Professional athletes working with Dr. Gnagy have earned their way onto the PGA Tour, the Web.com Tour, while junior athletes have competed for national teams and participated in the Junior Olympics.

    Joey Schalk, Academy Instructor PGA Apprentice

    • Joey is from Alburquerque, New Mexico.  He studied Business and Political Science at Texas State University.  Joey has played competitively for 15 years and is currently a PGA apprentice.  He has experience teaching junior and adult golfers of all levels.  Joey has a strong passion for teaching and is a staff instructor for our Academy junior programs.  Joey is also a TPI Level 1 Certified Golf Instructor.
